Six weeks after her husband Daniel dies in a car accident, ER nurse Claire Ashby is barely holding together in their old farmhouse outside Harrow's End, Pennsylvania. Then, at exactly 3:03 one winter morning, three slow knocks wake her and her eight year old daughter Maisie. Through the front door comes Daniel's voice, soft and familiar, asking to be let in. Claire tells herself it is only grief, but the voice knows things only her husband could know, and it will be back tomorrow night.
